The Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Camp Mataoka is a 450-seat performance venue located on the campus of Camp Matoaka in Smithfield, Maine. Completed in 2009, the 8,500 square foot multi-use facility is fully equipped with theatrical lighting, sound and traveler backdrop systems, dressing and makeup rooms, a costume storage and sewing area, and a backstage area for constructing sets and props. The facility also contains a Music Room for piano and choral rehearsals, a private room for individual lessons and a 750 square foot lobby with built in bar for concessions.
Jeffrey is the current Artistic Director for the PAC, planning and overseeing the programming for the summer theatrical season. Over the seven-week season, the facility serves more than 320 campers ages 7 – 15 through acting classes, choral groups, individual music and voice lessons and two Broadway style theatrical productions. For those interested in working behind the scenes, the facility provides workshops on set design, prop and costume construction as well as technical support. The facility is also used for touring concert productions and as a rental facility for outside companies.
